As Christians, we are called to defend the vulnerable, especially women and children. As Americans, we are bound to protect the foundation of our nation—the Constitution of the United States.
Today, both are under threat. ICE detentions not only violate due process—a right guaranteed by our Constitution—they also hold women and children in inhumane conditions. These conditions cause disease, sexual abuse, trauma, and in some cases, even miscarriages by pregnant mothers.
That this is happening under our government’s watch is unacceptable.
As American Christians, we cannot reconcile family separation, the denial of due process, and the cruelty inflicted on mothers and children with our values. These actions betray both our faith and our nation’s highest ideals.
We cannot remain silent while our neighbors suffer. We call on our leaders to act with compassion and courage—to uphold the Constitution and to protect the lives and dignity of every individual.

Our Prayer:
As American Christians, we pray that our leaders will defend our Constitution and show true Christian compassion for the families being held in ICE detention. We pray that they will take action to defend both due process and human dignity, keeping our neighbors from suffering horrific traumas while in our government’s custody. Especially the children and the mothers carrying unborn babies.
