devotional resources

In the spirit of the Confessing Church, here is a collection of devotional resources designed to inspire and equip Christians to take bold stands for their faith and their communities. These resources draw on the rich legacy of those who resisted oppression and upheld the true values of the gospel during times of great peril.

As we face our own challenges today, let us remember that our faith calls us to courage and action. By engaging with these devotions, you will be encouraged to take action, speak out against injustice, and support one another in living out the teachings of Christ. Stand firm, and let your faith be a beacon of hope and transformation in your community.

Sermons

1

Clarence Jordan

In a sermon “Love Your Enemies,” Jordan, the founder of Koinonia Farm, an influential religious community, ended by highlighting the Bible’s final verdict on why we should love those who oppose us: “For when the cards are all in, and the final chapter of history is written, when time is rolled up as a garment, and God is all and in all—on that final day it will be the peacemakers, not the warriors, who will be called the children of God.”

2

DIETRICH Bonhoeffer

"God has called you, and that is enough. Do you hear that, individual doubting Christian, asking and doubting Christian? God has plans for you, and that does mean you. Be ready and see to it. Never forget, even when your own powerlessness is grinding you down to the ground, that God has phenomenal, immeasurable, great plans for you. I will be with you." - from the sermon "My Strength is Made Perfect in Weakness"

Tony evans

Clarence Jordan

Clarence Jordan is the founder of Koinonia Farm, an influential religious community.  He is also the author of the Cotton Patch paraphrase of the New Testament

"You can’t put Christianity into practice. You can’t make it work . . . For Christianity is not a system you work—it is a Person who works you."

Os Guinness

Os Guinness is a social critic and has authored or edited over 30 insightful books on cultural, political, and social contexts.

"We are not called first to special work but to God. The key to answering the call is being reflective and discerning about who we are called to be."
